I’m in Japan

•August 9, 2010 • 1 Comment

Yes that’s right, i’ve made it to Japan, safe and sound! Safe because Japan is extremely safe, and sound because of the street racers flooring their pedals all night. This place is crazy, good and bad. I have many mixed feelings for Japan, as well as America. If I could, I would make a country that is an in-between, and push the rest off into the depths of hell…(In other words, there’s certain things that make me rage). Japan is awesome, most things are pretty cheap, but being a foreigner, I tend to spend more than I should. I always end up buying stuff I don’t need, yet I’m sure everyone does that. This got me thinking of goals to achieve while I am in Japan:
Get bigger-Japan has a lack of gyms, and where there is one, it has a lack of stuff. This was and still is a big fear I have of being in Japan, losing everything I have obtained the past year. I know I might sound crazy to you, but that is what I like to do, Body-build. Once school starts, I need to find a good gym, get a lot of food, and bust it out. I wanna get back up to 200 LBS maybe, that would be awesome ha.

Save Money-Everyone has heard that Japan is expensive, especially around the big cities. This is true, but I think there are solutions to this, one being to not spend money on stupid s*** ha. Examples of stupid s*** would be anime, manga, gundum mondels, and beer. Seems like those are the reasons that most nerds come here, they don’t care about the culture or language, so I think I’ll be fine! ha.

Learn Japanese- Of course this is an important goal, that is why I am here, to learn the language. I have only had one year of the language, but hopefully this will boost my confidence and get me to a 1 grade level of speaking! @_@

Learn about myself- Over this last year, I have changed into someone totally different. I am curious what kind of person I will be like after this year.

Hopefully I will be posting more often! Cheers

Raccoons make me crazy

•March 20, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Sorry I haven’t posted in a long time…(2 months). I’ve been pretty busy with school and the gym. That’s pretty much all I have been doing, but these activities take more time than I have. As a matter of fact, I just returned from my spring break. It was awesome, I went to Fort Stevens, an old military area located on the Oregon Coast next to Astoria, a campground that I have gone to my whole life. I had an awesome time, especially because I haven’t been there for about 4 years. This year however, was different. Out of the many times I have gone to this camp area, I have never encountered a raccoon. As a matter of fact, I had never seen a raccoon in my life before this eventful week, let me explain…
We arrived at the camp, left to go get more food, when we came back, our food was thrown around EVERYWHERE! Later, In the middle of the night, they ran through the camp again, but we scared them away with rocks, while hissing like a snake! Waking up in the morning, we see that they got into a cooler, and threw more hotdogs and what-cha-muh-call-it’s all over. The next night, we see a raccoon by our campsite, scaring the shit out of Regan. I think her scream scared them away for a few hours though. Shining the flashlight into the trees, we could see their eyes shining back at us, just like a cats eyes. It was so eerie to see 4 sets of eyes in a tree, looking at you like aliens. We decide to throw rocks, but that doesn’t help, they come right back. Levi then says that we should tape up our coolers, which is exactly what we do. The next day, we wake up to see that a tent had been ripped open, with crackers, boxes, and drinks tossed and turned around…A WAR WAS AMONG US…that night, we put food out for them, but ooooh noooo, it wasn’t regular CHEEZE-ITS, it had some “spice”. Mixed with loads of hand sanitizer, spray, and soap, the raccoons ate all of the 3 bowls…except this time they had all of their friends with them, 8 all-together. They are terrifying, they make the weirdest alien noises, they scavenge and threaten you, I swear we didn’t belong there. And yes, the story goes on…The next night we were positive that the raccoons were not coming back, guess what? YYYAHHH. So, I bought a pellet gun. HAHA. They were screwed, I know it was a haste decision, but what am I supposed to do? We tried spreading Amonia around our whole campsite, making them sick, and throwing rocks at them, so finally I bought a gun. 40 bucks. 250 shots. They were done for. That night, 4-5 raccoons came, we shot them all night, but they got back at us by ripping all of the DUCT TAPE, yes DUCT TAPE, off of the cooler and eating everything. I woke up in the middle of the night and I could hear them drinking and slurpin. The next night came around, and there was only one. I think we killed em. haha. Felony? Don’t know, don’t care, I had to protect my foot, and believe me, if they wouldn’t come every night and steal everything, I would touch them, especially because of how cute they are.

Happy New years everybody!

Well everyone, we have made it through 2009! Frankly, I am surprised to see how many people have made it with all this stress of the economy, terrorists, and everything else that sprouts from the worlds problems so to you who is reading this, GOOD JOB! As for me, 2009 was an alright year. There were some ups and downs: Moved to a new house because of a crazy uncle (I know there’s good inside of him), I tried a fraternity during my first year of college and it wasn’t for me, had lots of homework, studied Japanese =), got a new truck, and all I am looking forward to is Japan! While reflecting on the year, I was trying to think of new years resolutions, you know, those things people say they are going to do and fail at them 90 percent of the time haha, well at least that is what it seems like. This year will be the first year I am actually going to do a new years resolution:
1. Drink at least 7 glasses of tea a week- First of all, I love tea, any kind. Second, it’s very healthy!
2. Study Japanese everyday- I want to get good at it, only way to do that is to study everyday and repeat, repeat, repeat.
3. Take pictures- I got a new camera for christmas, I plan to use it extensively.

Do you have a new years resolution!?

Christmas!

Who doesn’t love christmas? This year was the best christmas ever! Well technically last years was better, but I got an awesome camera this year. I am so excited to use it in Japan next year, it will be sick! This christmas was pretty laid back, being with family was fun and it was cool to have my brother back in town for more than a day! I’ve got two videos that my brother had made for christmas, one being the making of his christmas cards and the other from christmas day!

This was filmed with my camera;)))

My brother and his girlfriend (technically she isn’t my sister but she is close enough, so I never consider her his gf :P ) are talented in so many ways. They did these videos in one day for each of them, amazing. For more info check out their blog http://mindcastleblog.com/ Ill update the blog for new years, Cheers!
Here are some pics I took with the cam;)

my top movies

This is a list of my favorite movies, enjoy!

1. Tie. Transformers and Star Trek

Both of these movies make my jaw drop. First of all, let’s talk about Transformers.

Transformers: I used to watch transformers when I was little, so the movie struck me hard. This movie is perfect, many people argue that the second had no plot…? It had an awesome plot, heres a link to read up on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_2 (haha wiki is good for everything). The graphics are phenomenal, the robot are crazy, and the characterization is thought out well. This is more of a kids movie when comparing it to Star Trek in that it has more jokes and more child-like humor.

Star Trek: Being that it is in space, JJ abrams brings the heat to the screen with special effects, huge ships, and excellent story line. The first time I saw it, I was a little confused when they explain how spock came through the portal years later. A second viewing was needed to understand it. The movie really makes you feel like there is no other movie like it, using special effects with spine-tingling music/silence at the right moments.

2. Avatar

to put simply, Avatar is the most visually fantastic film I’ve ever seen. It will be hailed as the groundbreaking 3D release of its time while setting a new standard by which all blockbusters are measured. Yes, it’s that good. I never got bored through the movie and wouldn’t change a thing about the film. This movie was also marvelous in the fact that it portrayed the human race as the bad guys. I usually don’t like love stories, however, this was a good story that grew on me throughout the movie. The only aspect that I did not like about the movie was the 3D was not the best, but that is tolerable.

3. Dark Knight

The dark Knight was an amazing batman movie that boosts its legacy into its survival in the future. This is an action-packed movie that kept me curling my toes the whole showing. Heath Ledger and Christine Bale really put an emphasis into their characters and bring out the true meaning of Batman, the Joker, and all of Gotham.

4. Spider man

5.

Energy drinks, yahooo!

•December 17, 2009 • Leave a Comment

The title explains it, energy drinks make me say “yahooo!” I am sensitive to caffeine, I usually don’t drink pop. So…let’s get to my question (rhetorical), what is the best energy drink out there? I have the answer: yes, make fun of me all you want, “your a girl!”, as my Korean friend said to me when I bought it. But let me tell you, being in college, and being sensitive to these drinks, I had to find the perfect health wrenching, brain-stimulating, teeth crippling beverage out there. AMP, monster, wired, venom, red bull, full throttle, and any others that I have tried don’t come close to this poison…err drink. First of all, it is sugar free…that’s almost as inventive as SUGAR FREE TRIDENT! Second, its strawberry, is there a better flavor? Now the most important part, the amount of stimulation (caffeine) inside this little 6-inch can. Now get this, there is 140mg of caffeine in a big amp can, while there is 150mg in GO GIRL, which is half the size. Now if I did the math right…that’s….more than amp for a cheaper price and smaller amount! An other plus is the donation they make to breast cancer! Now I don’t know a better drink, other than tea, milk, water (haha) than this! If you want some energy, get a GO GIRL! Caution: I heard a basketball player drank 4 red bulls before a game and died in the middle.

Michael Moore and Japan

•December 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Moore and Karube go to Akihabara’s famous @home maid cafe. Moore does not seem to enjoy the servility of the maids and fears that it is some sort of pedo business that will soon be raided by the police. Before leaving, Moore apparently comments on his opposition to Obama’s Afghanistan policy. He then reminds Karube that masks are bad and germs are good. Teenage girls are to be avoided.

There Must be something wrong, or maybe right, with me…

. Do you ever feel like you are in the wrong place, wrong time? Well I do, the feeling is with me 24/7, well technically its like 18/7 because i have to fit sleeping in between thinking somewhere. Being in college, I see all of the latest fads, cool things, and hip, if you will (no one uses that term anymore…do they?), styles and trends. With this said, I would like to point out that I am DIFFERENT, NERDY, WIERD, COOL, whatever you would like to call it. I am obsessed with Japan, and I can’t help it. The girls, the food, the toys, the commercials, the people, even the air in Tokyo is badass (don’t ask). I like Anime, watching Japanese tv, and listen to Technopop (PERFUME) and classical music all the time. I like every single kind of music there is, but sometimes rap especially, makes me want to rips peoples skeletons out. “I wanna slap that azz and shii bish, gimme that azz…” what song is that from? ALL OF THEM. Why do they have to be so disrespectful? Anyways…I would just like my readers to know that if they want to do what they love, “JUST DO IT” (Nike does one thing right, they have a good saying, still doesn’t cover up their sweatshops that they use to make their 5 dollar shoes, when they sell them for 150 bucks cuz it has some baskeball players name on it, even though he has probably stolen, killed, skipped school, and deals drugs, people buy them). I do what I love, and I want to do more of it. It is very hard to expand on learning Japanese because A) I have to study for other classes I don’t care about. And B) the Lack of classes here at WSU, here I come UW! Anyways, do what you love, if people don’t like it, kill em. NUFF said.

OMG Perfume! And Sasuke!

•December 5, 2009 • 1 Comment

Show me that there is a better looking group. =) Have you ever seen Ninja Warrior? Well in Japan it is called Sasuke, and I love it! I was thinking, when I go to Japan, maybe I will try out to be in the competition. All I really need to train is my grip strength, the rest will come with endurance training. This competition is twice every year, and only 100 make it, which seems like barely anyone. However, I’ve seen so many, non-athletic people on there, I think it is randomly selected somehow. <—-Thats’s me!!!

The practice course was very hard, but i’ll get there! Maybe next time you watch Ninja Warrior, i’ll be on there! =)
